Meet The Staff

Liam

Liam has an extensive background in both ground and aerial circus arts. He began teaching in 2011, specialising in aerial technical drop theory. Liam has taught internationally, and has developed a syllabus for a myriad of circus disciplines, which enables students to progress safely through techniques, working from fundamental core moves to achieve some of the hardest skills in circus arts.
Liam is now the head of training at Simia Circus, ensuring that all members of staff are fully equipped with the knowledge and experience required to keep students safe, whilst delivering a fun and accessible curriculum.

Liam holds an enhanced DBS certificate.


Summer

Summer began teaching aerial in 2017. Her academic and personal background in neurodiversity puts inclusivity at the heart of her teaching practice. Her time spent teaching graduate level psychology also drives her enthusiasm to make every one of her students feel empowered and confident.
Summer’s specialism is aerial silks, which she enjoys both teaching and performing. Her routines are always full of exciting drops, and she loves to embed these into her teaching as well, making her classes fun and engaging.
Summer has worked extensively with a specialist physiotherapist to be able to support pre and postnatal students.
Summer holds an enhanced DBS certificate.


Elly

Elly is currently undergoing her teacher training with us at Simia Circus. In addition, she is training to be a personal trainer, so that she may develop transferable skills in strength and conditioning, as well as embracing aerial as a novel and exciting method of training her PT clients. Elly enjoys challenges, and is currently developing a broad range of aerial and ground based circus skills. Elly has a long history of working in stage management, having also developed specialist skills in lighting tech whilst at university. She works frequently with local theatres and schools, and enjoys bringing her expertise to her aerial performances. When not enjoying all things circusy, Elly teaches secondary and A level psychology and biology.

Our Assistance

Phoebe

Phoebe is currently undergoing her teacher training with us at Simia Circus. She first started aerial in 2018, and discovered a talent for understanding and remembering complex aerial silks wraps. Phoebe enjoys using these skills when teaching so that she can help other students to achieve.
Phoebe is working hard towards developing the skills for a career in aerial teaching or performance. When she’s not in the air she enjoys Latin and art.
